FAO International Symposium on Agricultural Innovation for Family Farmers

Innovation is the central driving force which will transform food systems, lift family farmers out of poverty and help the world to achieve food security, sustainable agriculture and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Symposium will provide inspiration for innovation actors and decision-makers and, among other things, will celebrate inspiring success stories of innovators, acting as catalyst for boosting partnerships as well as public and private investments to foster and scale up agricultural innovation. The Symposium will be a dynamic multi-stakeholder and multidisciplinary forum, bringing together about 500 participants from government representatives, international organizations and non-state actors, aiming at understanding the socio-economic potential of innovation, its key drivers, processes and impact pathways through exchange of knowledge, information and practices. Inspiring world leaders, innovation practitioners, farmers, researchers and policy-makers, students and young entrepreneurs, experts and thought-provoking speakers will be invited to share their stories and challenge participants to think outside the box on how agricultural innovations for family farmers will feed the world and serve as an engine for the SDGs.
