Events

The European Commission is holding an Infoweek on the new Horizon 2020 SC2 (Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, maritime and martime inland water research and the bioeconomy) Work Programme for 2018-2020. The usual SC2 Infoday will be complemented by two high level dissemination and policy events and a bioeconomy village highlighting SC2 projects and initiatives. In addition, a corresponding Brokerage Event is organised by the BioHorizon project.

This year’s Infoweek comprises the following events:

• 14/11 - Infoday on SC2 calls 2018: The event targets potential applicants to the calls for proposals under the H2020 SC2 ‘Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime and inland water research and the bioeconomy’. The Work Programme for 2018-2020 and new funding opportunities under the SC2 2018 calls for proposals will be presented in the morning, whereas in-depth info sessions on various calls under the Work Programme will be held in the afternoon.
• 15/11 – SC2 Brokerage Event: The purpose of the event organised by BioHorizon is to support stakeholders in finding potential partners for applications under the upcoming SC2 and KET-Biotechnology calls for proposals. Please register until 26 October here: https://www.b2match.eu/foodbrokerage2017
• 16/11 – Bioeconomy Policy Day: The Commission will present its review of the European Bioeconomy Strategy and Action Plan, and discuss its findings with stakeholders and policy makers. Furthermore, the European Bioeconomy Stakeholders Panel will present and discuss its Bioeconomy Manifesto, setting out a societal agenda for bioeconomy development.
• 17/11 – Digitising agriculture and food value chains: Representatives of the farming and agri-food sectors, digital technology providers, as well as scientists and national and regional policy makers will discuss and exchange views on different EU policy initiatives on digitisation of farming and food sectors and of research and innovation activities contributing to these areas. A parallel session will highlight achievements and projects in marine and maritime research for Blue Growth.

Registration for all events in the Infoweek (except the BioHorizon brokerage event) is now open here. It will close on 20 October at the latest. Registration may close earlier if the maximum number of participants is reached.
